How it works

Frequently asked questions
Will this reduce image quality?
JPG and WEBP compression is lossy, so a lower quality setting trades some detail for a smaller file. PNG stays lossless regardless of the quality slider. Try a few settings and compare the preview before downloading.
What's the best format for smaller files?
WEBP usually produces the smallest file at a given quality, JPG is the most widely supported, and PNG is best when you need transparency or perfectly sharp edges, like a logo.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 40 MB are supported. Very large images may take a moment to process since everything happens on your device.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool reads the file into your browser, compresses it there, and the download happens locally. Nothing is sent to a server.
